Springtime in Minnesota (finally)

Yesterday I went for a walk through my parents’ woods. Only a week and a half after getting 15 inches of snow, it’s now spring. Here are a few things I saw.

1) Bloodroots:

2) lots of trees and bushes budding out:

3) a fern in its infancy:

4) the little red shed:

5) more bloodroots:

6) a swampy area (great breeding ground for mosquitoes in the weeks ahead):

7) a wild trillium:

8) a sign that the turkeys don’t need quite as many feathers as they did all winter:

9) mushrooms!

Welcome home, spring!
