July in my Garden

A few years ago, on a wet, cold, windy April morning, I threw some hollyhock seeds in the ground and ran back into the house to get out of the rain. Now I have hollyhocks in really pretty colors. Isn’t that nice of the hollyhock seed people to put seeds for all the different colors, right into the same packet of seeds?

There's Hot Pink . . .

And yellow (my favorite, because it's still small and delicate)

There's a peach-colored blossom . . . .

And these gorgeous maroon ones . . ..

And white.

It’s this time of the year that I wait for all the rest of the year, so it’s a pity that I’m sitting at the computer right now instead of pulling weeds or relaxing outside. On the other hand, it’s important to write these things down from time to time when they happen. Who would believe, in January in Minnesota, that there was ever a day like this?
