Athassel Abbey

Athassel Abbey was built in the 13th century and was located in a village. Now, it’s in the middle of a field where cows graze, several miles from Cashel, Co. Tipperary. It’s still beautiful.

Hubby and I had the entire abbey to ourselves on this beautiful June morning. Just as we were leaving, another couple walked through the field and started exploring. It turned out they were American. We said we were from America, too. We said we were from Minnesota. The gentleman responded that he was born in Minnesota, but that he has lived in California for many years now. Then he said he was born in Owatonna, MN.

We live in Owatonna, MN.
