Everything’s stupider in Texas

Today’s lesson in Texas:

1) The United States of America is a republic, not a democracy.

2) The United States of America is a Christian nation.

Is anyone else startled? Or embarrassed for Texas? (Or just laughing at these ignorant policymakers?) Clearly the members of the State Board of Education in Texas did not pay attention in their own history classes.

Today’s real lesson for everyone else is:

Be careful who you vote for, even when the election seems as benign as voting for people who will support your public schools and pursue a great education for your kids.

If I didn’t realize that Texas is inflicting their students on the rest of the country, it would barely annoy me at this point…

  2. Question for Ms. Cargil–Why do they call it “The Enlightenment?”

  3. Alyssa says:

    Good grief. This is insane.
