Lessons Learned, Part I

  1. Motorola cell phones are unreliable.
  2. Verizon sucks.
  3. Cats are wonderful companions.
  4. Only good people deserve the companionship of cats.
  5. Zappos.com is the best e-marketplace for ordering shoes, boots, and slippers (and who knows what else).
  6. Amazon.com is OK, too, except they don’t offer free return shipping like Zappos.com does.
  7. It’s easy to root for Canadians during the Olympics, even if you are not Canadian.
  8. Always write down your various usernames and passwords somewhere, and you hope you don’t lose whatever you wrote them down on.
  9. Some books are just so darn overrated. This week’s case-in-point is “Her Fearful Symmetry” by Audrey Niffenegger.
  10. Sometimes when I hear people talking about a book that was so-so or horrible, and they exclaim, “That’s such a good book!”, I think to myself that they must not have read many (or any) good books.
  11. Often when you volunteer to help with something, you end up managing the entire event.
  12. Wichita, KS is not such a bad town when it comes to cute little shops.
  13. Pancakes. Pancakes. Pancakes.
